Microsoft Certified x6, Senior Cloud Architect and tech enthusiast. Passionate about software architecture and solution design.

During my ~10 years of hands-on experience in Software Engineering, I have primarily focused on .NET-based solutions and Azure as a cloud-services provider. I have worked with pretty much all kinds of applications, from small Windows Forms tools to large-scale enterprise web-based solutions. The more I code, the more I realize that my true passion is solution design and software architecture, regardless of tech-stack and platform.

Sharing knowledge and insights is the finest thing I know and the one thing I love the most in the IT community.

They challenged me to create a stable Azure solution, using only the cheapest tiers.

Joke's on them cause I would have done the same even without the restriction!
This is the story of an Azure architecture that was designed to consume 100 requests per hour, then the requirements changed and we had to consume 1000 requests per minute, while the budget remained the same.
In this session, I will show you the tricks I used to go around the various limitations of Azure's cheapest (yet production-eligible) tiers of Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory, Azure Service Bus and others.
Spoiler: I used code here & there.

How to monitor and manage a farm of robots using Azure IoT & Digital Twins

Robotic arms can unload a whole container full of heavy boxes in minutes, while a group of humans would need hours. However, to maximize performance, avoid disastrous mistakes, and ensure an optimum workflow, robotic workers need to be monitored and managed. Azure IoT platform and Digital Twins, can be used to transform industrial production lines, by ensuring eligibility and visualizing complicated workflows. Let’s see, how using Azure Digital Twins, we manage to guarantee full control and surveillance of these magnificent beasts.

Fire & Forget with Azure Service Bus

Azure Service Bus is a great tool to implement message-based communication workflows. In this session, we will go through its capabilities and compare it with other solutions such as Event Hub and Event Grid. We will see how we can implement First-In-First-Out functionality, how to schedule message deliveries and how messages that could not be processed are treated.
We will even present some use cases where Azure Service Bus is the winning factor and how well-integrated ASB is with other Azure components. Last but not least, we will go through a few insights and tips to make the best of it for future projects.

How to lead an orchestra of Azure Functions.

This presentation will provide an overview of Azure Functions and its key features, as well as demonstrate how it can be used to build scalable, event-driven applications.

You will learn about the key features and benefits of Azure Functions, including its ability to run code on-demand, support for various languages, and integration with other Azure services. We will also discuss how Azure Functions can be used to build scalable, event-driven applications and provide real-world examples of how it is being used by organizations today.

Whether you are new to Azure Functions or are looking to expand your existing knowledge, this presentation is a great opportunity to learn more about this powerful service.

Buckle up your web-facing app with Azure Front Door & WAF

This presentation will provide an overview of these two Azure services and demonstrate how they can be used together to improve the performance and security of your web applications.

Azure Front Door is a global, scalable, and secure service that enables you to deliver your web applications with high availability and performance. It provides a single entry point for your web applications, which enables you to route traffic based on rules and policies that you define. Azure Front Door also integrates with Azure Web Application Firewall, which provides protection against common web vulnerabilities and attacks.

Whether you are new to Azure Front Door and Web Application Firewall or are looking to expand your existing knowledge, this presentation is a great opportunity to learn more about these services and how they can benefit your organization.
